Chapter 9

“Khushi” came a distant reply. She ran to the voice sitting on the ground she moved back to put his head on her lap “Arnav!” she screamed in pain “Are, Are you okay” she asked in a worried tone. He rubbed his head and got up from her lap “I am okay angel, My head hurts though” he explained. She rose to his level and rubbed it trying to soothe the pain. Arnav could swear that he was still so turned on. “Arnav what happened.” She asked him again.

“I don’t know  I was walking with you and then suddenly I could feel a hard hand punch me and hold my mouth I could not even warn you. How long has it been since we’ve been here?” he asked her confused.

“half hour!” she said in a soft voice. She tried to make him stand up. “I heard some noises while I was unconscious, like someone was talking. Are you okay”

She moved a bit Khushi knew he was referring to ASR. “The man punched you and left he couldn’t find me so he left me.” She said in a soft voice. “Anyway I think the tunnel opens up to the where the money is kept come on.”

The two of them walked along the dark dingy tunnel both holding hands, when they reached they saw a table and on that table laid the missing money totally 1 crore. Her eyes sparkled with some kind off victory “this is the stolen money she squealed” in excitement and all Arnav could do is just stare at this big bundle happiness in front of him. He was dumbstruck to see the huge smile on his face. He was impressed with her. She managed to find the trap door she managed to enter the tunnel unafraid but what really impressed him was the way she just held him when he got hyper. Her very touch just calmed him in a second. He almost forgot that he was ASR. He just felt like Arnav when she held him forgetting the whole world. All he wanted was to hold her and live the rest of his life with her.

He smiled at her and touched her face as he blinked his eyes at her with glee on his face he said “You did it”. She jumped in excitement and almost fell but he held her “I did.. I did, this is one step closer” she said with some kind off hope. “One step closer to what” he asked in a confused tone. “Uh.. Nothing lets inform Akash” she straightens up.

There was a lot of running around and finally Akash came to know about this secrete tunnel that was hidden in the vault lock. He was mighty impressed with Khushi exposing this. She really saved his ass ASR would have murdered him. It was the money on time or his head on the line.

“Khushi I cant thank you enough” Akash said to her in a genuine manner. He held her hands in his. Arnav watching them from the corner of her eye. The very fact Akash was touching her was bugging him beyond level.

Alfred walked in right on time to ease his pain. He nodded back at Arnav signing him that he got it. “Well done. Khushi isn’t it” All eyes turned onto to see the man in the crisp black coat. Khushi nodded at him. “I am Alfred” he said letting his hand out for her to shake, khushi returned it back with a smile. “ASR was very impressed with your work. He has decided to make you part of the organisation. You will swap places with Akash’s.”

Everyone looked at him stunned and Akash was most shocked by this he didn’t expect this at all. Unable to digest he said in a gruff voice. “Alfred, this is not fare I am an old employee of this organisation. You cant just replace me like this.”

Alfred smiled back “Whatever gave you the idea that I did, it was ASR who has decided this. You are not worthy enough for the post. Khushi is hence she got the job” “But how is this possible, she is a new person” he yelled once more.

Alfred was about to answer back when Khushi butted in “Excuse me sir! But I don’t understand whats going on. What is this organisation that you keep talking about” asked Khushi all muddled up. Alfred smiled “finally one decent question. Come with me lets go out to the garden and have a little chat” Khushi nodded and Akash looked at them walk out fuming, Arnav was seriously happy to see Akash squirm.

Outside in the gardens Alfred and Khushi walked as they talked. “The Raizada Empire is an organisation that rules the seas of Mumbai the coasts of goa. Supply drugs all over the world from the very docks of Mumbai. ASR runs the organisation, no one knows who he is or what he looks like. Why even I don’t know what he looks like. His rules are the only rules and if no one plays by them they will face the consequences. Harsh consequences” (he paused to look at Khushi who was keenly listening to him)

“The organisation is split into 4 routes, that is handled by 4 different handlers. Kunde the lord off the sea is in charge of shipping. He ships wheat flour and rice to several countries as a white collar exchange but in actuality its antiques, painting drugs. Aman is in charge of creation of drugs. A chemist who creates drug substances to attract more clients in the market. His white collar profession is a perfume maker. Ashok the accountant who infiltrates the black money handling all the payments of the Raizada empire, his white collar job is off a chartered accountant. Last but not the least is Akash manager of the royal casino and Sunvilla hotels. This is where all our clients come from around the world to meet with us. You will no be in charge off Hotel sun villa and the money collection that it brings to the Raizada Empire.”  Explained Alfred

Khushi quietly listened to the whole thing and after a few seconds she spoke “Sir what if I decline this offer” came her reply as she looked at him in a calm composed manner “I don’t think you have a choice.” Replied Alfred replicating her tone of voice. “ASR has hand picked you. Your creating some kind off a connection the empire and ASR feels that with you he and the empire will benefit tremendously”

Khushi simply nodded back at him and said “Okay sir I accept this proposal, I am willing to take Akash’s place” she said in a soft voice. “Excellent in that case there is a meeting at 9 am in the conference room, don’t be late that’s where the introduction will happen.” Said Alfred. Khushi nodded and then left to go back to her room.

She had no idea what was happening but this was really one step closer to the organization. Besides she had a lot that happened to her in the span of 5 hours she met the devil twice almost slept with him solved a theft and got promoted to manager. What the hell was happening to her, all she wanted to do was simply go back to her room and regain her thoughts she had a lot to get together out of the days events.
